DO you consider yourself a foodie? If so, then the Good Food & Wine Show 2012 is the place to go. Sarah Lim gives you a preview of what’s to come.

Melbourne is a city with a variety of delicious food and international chefs of critical acclaim. So it comes as no surprise that many events and festivals are held throughout the year to showcase the delectable cuisine and the host of culinary talent the city has to offer. But one event stands out from the rest and shouldn’t be missed by any food lover – the Good Food & Wine Show.

Set to be held in the first week of June 2012 in Melbourne, the show begins its tour in multicultural Melbourne before moving on to the rest of Australia in coming months.

The Good Food & Wine Show will feature celebrity chefs such as George Calombaris of MasterChef Australia fame, Maggie Beer, Rick Stein, John Torrode, and many more.  During their sessions, they will reveal their hidden cooking techniques and serve up their signature dishes. You will  even get the opportunity to see them live at work and learn their skills firsthand alongside other food enthusiasts.

There will even be celebrity chef book-signing sessions, where you will get the chance to meet and greet your favourite culinary stars – all at one place.

Another highlight of the show are the masterclasses that will be held throughout the event. These classes will give you the chance to learn about wine selection, different types of cheeses, and allow you to sample dishes in exclusive dining sessions.

Even better, both independent and gourmet food specialists will have their products on display at the event – giving you a chance to sample and savour some of their wares, even if you can’t purchase them.
