HAVE a flair for design and want to contribute to a good cause? Take part in the Responsible Gambling Poster Challenge and help tackle irresponsible gambling among international students. You’ll also be in the running for up to $500 worth of prizes.

Gambler’s Help is seeking poster designs around the theme “International students and responsible gambling” from students, 18-years -old or over, from all courses and levels of design experience.

The organisation believes international students are especially vulnerable to gambling harm, “as shown by the findings of studies and the experiences of community support services”. They found that “not only do (international students) have to deal with a range of stressors arising from living and studying overseas” but many don’t know much about the potential risks associated with gambling.

The competition aims to generate awareness about this issue and the winning poster may be used for future Gambler’s Help promotions and social marketing campaigns.

Participants will also be in the running to receive:

  • 1st Prize: $500 worth of gift cards from the store of your choice
  • 4 x Runner-Up Prizes: $100 worth of gift cards from the store of your choice
  • Lucky Draw: 20 x Movie Tickets

Entries will be published on their Facebook page and shortlisted based on a points system, whereby one point is allocated per ‘Like’ and 10 points awarded per ‘Share’.

The deadline for the competition is Monday, June 11 at 11.59 pm and voting will take place between 11.59 pm on Wednesday, June 12, and 11.59 pm on Friday, June 22.
