Take part in a coffee masterclass with Andrew Mayne

EXPLORE Melbourne’s vibrant cafe culture in a coffee masterclass with barista Andrew Mayne next Thursday August 8. It’s all part of our brand new At Home and Abroad cultural experience workshops.

Coffee masterclass meld

In the second instalment of our cultural experience workshop series, we transport you from Asia to Melbourne in a coffee masterclass led by barista Andrew Mayne.

Held at the international student lounge The Couch on 69 Bourke St, the hour and 30-minute long masterclass will offer insights to Melbourne’s distinct coffee culture, starting from the time your order is taken (just how many types of coffees are there?) to the nuts and bolts of coffee making, latte art and all.

Find out how you can tell a good coffee from a bad one, and why coffee snobs insist not coffees are made equal.

There’ll be opportunities to get behind the machine and have a go at extracting and frothing, as well as enjoying a free cuppa on the house.

Proudly supported by the City of Melbourne, the Coffee Masterclass will take place on Thursday August 8 from 7 to 8.30pm at The Couch, 69 Bourke St, Melbourne.

Spaces are limited, so do register early to avoid disappointment. If you have questions, or would like more information, head to our Facebook event page.
