Free Cooking Lesson with Adam Liaw at the Queen Victoria Market

Head down to the Queen Victoria Market for a free cooking lesson with chef and host of SBS’ Destination Flavour, Adam Liaw. Adam will be demonstrating how to prepare seasonal winter recipes.
You’ll get to enjoy a taste of what he cooks and also receive free recipe cards while you’re there. The demonstrations are at 11.00am, 12.00pm & 1.00pm.

Gertrude Street Projection Festival
Friday, July 18 – Sunday, July 27 (6.00pm – 12.00am); (Gertrude St, Fitzroy)
The Gertrude Street Projection Festival will light up Fitzroy yet again. The festival is put on by the Gertrude Association, a not-for-profit volunteer organisation dedicated to exhibiting contemporary new media.
Thirty sites on Gertrude Street will light up with dazzling, colourful light shows by projection artists and community groups.
In addition to lighting projections, a program of documentary screenings, album launches, parties and industry panels are also part of festivities.
With a program this active, there’s no excuse to be bored over the 10-day festival !

Melbourne Peruvian Festival

The Melbourne Peruvian Festival is back for its third year, taking over Docklands for a day of fun, food and music.
The festival aims to showcase and promote Peruvian culture by giving visitors a sample of the food, dress and music of the Peruvian people.
There will be numerous food stalls serving delicious Peruvian cuisine to satiate your taste buds.
Its lineup of traditional dancing and music accompanied by Peruvian folklore dancing and Latino bands, as well as craft stalls with traditional Peruvian creations, give visitors a taste of the sights and sounds of Peruvian culture.

Undressed: 350 Years of Fashion in Underwear

The Bendigo Art Gallery presents Undressed: 350 Years of Fashion in Underwear direct from the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
The exhibition features underwear from 1750 up to to the present day and looks at the secret history of underwear and its function in decorating and manipulating the human body.
On display will be a range of garments including corsets, petticoats, hoops and padded underpinnings, showing just how technologically complex and elaborate such undergarments could get throughout history.
