The annual Melbourne International Animation Festival has been showcasing the best in animation but the festival wraps up this weekend!

Animation enthusiasts will be spoiled for choice this weekend but if you’re looking specifically at the best films of the festival, Sunday night will host the Best of the Festival, as selected by judges from the week long line up of talented works.

This weekend you can also catch a special look at Slovakian animation with its two ‘Window On Slovakia’ programs which feature shorts chosen by the director of the Czech & Slovak Film Festival of Australia, Cerise Howard. One showcases the best of new Slovakian shorts while the other offers a historical retrospective of older Slovakian shorts.

Additionally, for animation students looking to learn more about the craft of animation filmmaking, the festival has a ‘Meet the Filmmakers’ where you can ask questions to the panel of animators.

Head over to the Melbourne International Animation Festival’s website for more information.
