WANT to know how you can work and study at the same time? Come along to the Finding Part-Time Jobs: Work-Ready Winter Intensive event where you can learn how to improve your chances of employment and get ahead in your career.
Jobs. They’re on the mind of every student during and after they complete their studies. But how do you get them and where can you get advice on how to better improve your chances of getting them?
On Wednesday, August 5 from 5.00pm – 7.00pm students can learn more about what they can do to get a part time job during their studies at the Part-Time Jobs Expo.
Co-organised by the City of Melbourne, the Australian Federation of International Students and Meld Magazine, the Finding Part Time Jobs: Work-Ready Winter Intensive will be hosted at Victoria University’s City Convention Centre and aims to help students become more work-ready.
With a planned total of 16 workshops, sessions on the day include workshops around how to tailor your resume specifically to a part time job, using the networks you have efficiently and identifying unscrupulous employers. Students can use these sessions to network and pick up all the skills necessary to help them gain employment in Australia and abroad.
Resume checking will also be available during the event where students will be able to have a ten minute consultation with a working professional.
