WONG Fu Productions will return to Australian shores this December and present their first feature film, Everything Before Us. Dea Putra has the details on how you can meet the beloved YouTube stars behind Wong Fu and see their new film.
Philip Wang, Wesley Chan, Christine Chen, and Taylor Chan of Wong Fu Productions will be returning to Sydney and Melbourne this December as part of their Asia Pacific tour for their first feature-length film, Everything Before Us.
A three year long project for Wong Fu Productions, Everything Before Us dives into a prominent theme explored in many of their previous works – the intricacies of romantic relationships – with the addition of a playful dash of science fiction as the film is set in the near future, involving the Department of Emotional Integrity, an organisation that oversees all romantic relationships.
Everything Before Us stars Aaron Yoo (Disturbia), Ki Hong Lee (The Maze Runner), Randall Park (Fresh off the Boat) and Victoria Park (Raven’s Touch), just to name a few.
Although Everything Before Us is currently accessible on demand through Vimeo, the added bonus of seeing the film with an audience and its creators in attendance will no doubt be enough incentive for fans to attend.
The YouTube sensations will take part in exclusive Q&A sessions, where they will open up about challenges and triumphs that came out of the film’s production.
Eager fans looking to really interact with the group can also participate in the event’s VIP Meet & Greet sessions where attendants can personally meet them for photo opportunities and merchandise signing.
Wong Fu Productions is internationally renowned for its short films and sketches. They have amassed more than 2.5 million subscribers and garnered more than 300 million views to their various Youtube series including “Wong Fu Weekends” and “Lunch Break”.
They have also produced music videos using their hallmark comedy, creativity, and depth for international acts such as Maroon 5, Jason Mraz, and David Choi.
In recent years, their short films have been featured at the Cannes Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival, and the LA American Pacific Film Festival.
The Everything Before Us screening will take place on Tuesday, December 15 at Wesley Theatre, Wesley Conference Centre in Sydney (220 Pitt St, Sydney), and Wednesday, December 16 at Melbourne City Conference Centre in Melbourne (333 Swanston St, Melbourne).
