Through their work, visitors can explore what modern art and cultural politics have meant (and continue to mean) in their respective eras.

The exhibition draws on the parallels and intersections between the art works, one of which represents 20th century America, and the other, the modern life in 21st century China.

More than 300 art works are presented, including paintings, sculpture, photography, and immersive installations, one of which includes Ai Weiwei’s iconic Forever Bicycles series, which is made out of nearly 1500 bicycles.

Tickets are $26 for adults ($22.50 concession). More information can be accessed through NGV’s webpage.

Essential Anime
December 14 – 20, 2015 (Times vary) | Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI), Federation Square, Melbourne

Are you bored and tired of watching anime through your laptop? Try watching these films on the big screen at ACMI this weekend!

This weekend, you can catch some of Studio Ghibli’s most iconic features, such as the heart-warming My Neighbour Totoro, and the stunningly-designed Princess Mononoke and remind yourself why these films have remain endearing classics for so long.

Or if you’re looking for more action-packed anime titles, check out the thrilling Dragon Ball Z: Ressurection “F”, or the animated remake to one of the most iconic mecha anime of the ’90s, Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo.

And if you’re (still) a big shinobi at heart, you can watch the continuation of the ever-popular Naruto saga in Boruto: Naruto the Movie.

Visit ACMI’s official webpage for the complete list of films and more information.
