How do women from different backgrounds find their own identity and fight for equality amidst the ongoing #MeToo campaign around the world? You probably will find the answer at ACCA.

Unfinished Business: Perspectives on art and feminism is an art exhibition that dives right into feminism within the Australian art history. It is an exhibit that reveals different reflections on the same issue in contemporary Australian society.

ACCA’s Artistic Director Max Delany and Senior Curator Annika Kristensen are the leading developers behind the exhibition and have worked alongside artists and curators such as Paola Ball, Julie Ewingon, Vikki Mclnnes and Elvis Richardson.

The exhibition is free to the public and no bookings are required. The exhibition is located in the Main Exhibition Gallery.

Australia Day At Docklands

Don’t feel like watching the national flag rise early in the morning or participate in family festivities under the scorching Melbourne sun? Make the most out of Australia Day this Friday and head down to Docklands to celebrate the founding of this country.

There’s plenty to do and see in the evening! Be entertained by roaming artists, fill your stomach with different street food options and watch the spectacular firework show, all from the Harbour Esplanade in Docklands.

Miss Gay & Miss Transsexual Australia International 2018 Pageant

Still have no clue what to do this Saturday night? How about coming to St Kilda Town Hall and watching the ninth Miss Gay & Miss Transsexual Australia International beauty pageant?

As part of Midsumma Festival, the Miss Gay & Miss Transsexual International beauty pageant is Australia’s largest international drag and transgender beauty pageant. It offers audiences a chance to enjoy the glamour  and learn more about the LGBT+ communities that live in Melbourne. Competitors perform on stage, flaunt their looks and will strut in style all to the theme of this year’s pageant: “LIVE YOUR DREAM”.

With 21 finalists competing this year, the event will start at 6.00 pm this Saturday! Tickets can be purchased via Midsumma Festival’s website.

Mmeets The Science of Coffee
Saturday, January 27 (10.00am – 11.00am)| MPavilion (Queen Victoria Gardens, St Kilda Rd, Melbourne)

Are you a coffee addict? Someone who enjoys the aroma of caffeine every morning? This event is designed for you!

Presented by La Trobe University physicist Dr. David Hoxley and coffee scientist Dr. Monika Fekete, this event breaks down the science of coffee and will demonstrate the coffee-making processes and show just how to make a scientifically perfect cup of coffee!

This free one-hour event will be held at Queen Victoria Garden and you will leave you refreshed and entertained from inside out. If you can’t find the place, just trace that faint aroma of coffee in the air which should lead you to an outdoor dome auditorium where you will explore more things than you can imagine.
