SEXtember 2021: Accept and A-Peach-iate

Many of us thought 2020 would be the end of COVID-19. But, girl, weren’t we wrong. With us now well into the sixth lockdown in Victoria, tensions are rising, hate is brewing, and we often forget about the most important ingredients in life: love and acceptance.

That’s why this year’s SEXtember is a lot about learning, and a lot more about appreciating. You’ll read pieces about deep personal experiences, or which challenge views among the international student community. We’re also collaborating with the amazing team from 1800 My Options so be on the lookout for this during the coming weeks.

Want more to read in the meantime? Check out our past year’s SEXtember articles, including Faith’s discussion of international students’ experiences with consent, Jason’s list of boy and girl love series, and our important collaboration with Living Positive Victoria talking about international student Carlos who was diagnosed with HIV.

Even further down, we have our previous writer Natasya who listed six principal movies that showcase sexuality and gender identity, and Emily who walked us through the five stages of queer love.

You can just search “Sextember” on our website and find yourself deep into the hole of Meld’s discussions about queerness, love, sex and identity. – Jason H
