The Melbourne Central Shopping Festival has more than 200 offers and events celebrating local style, street art and food.

Catch a laser light show in Shot Tower Square, enjoy free mini styling sessions or indulge with pop-up street food stores while checking out the latest trends.

Shop till you drop and then shop some more this weekend at Melbourne Central!

Melbourne Day Celebrations
Saturday, August 30 (12.00pm – 3.00pm); Federation Square (Corner Flinders St & Swanston St, Melbourne)

Melbourne is celebrating its 179th birthday and you’re invited! On the August 30, 1835 settlers sailed up the Yarra River and landed at the site of what is now known as Melbourne.

To celebrate, a free concert will be held at Fed Square from 1.00 – 3.00pm. Performers will include the P!nk Tribute Show, Rav Thomas, a selection of homegrown talent and more.

There will also be birthday cake on offer but get in early if you’re keen for a slice!

In addition to the celebration at Fed Square, a whole range of activities a whole range of activities are happening around the CBD and Docklands for Melbourne Day too!

Great Collectors Heaven Fair
Sunday, August 31 (9.00am – 3.00pm); Malvern Town Hall (Corner Glenferrie Rd and High St, Malvern)

Head over to the Malvern Town Hall to pick up a bargain at the Great Collectors Heaven Fair.

Have a look around and you might find something unexpected. You’ll be able to peruse through a large variety of memorabilia, vintage and hard to find collectables, china and glassware.

Kit yourself out with jewellery or pick up some movie, music or sporting memorabilia. Add to your vinyl collection or find some vintage books or comics for something new to read.

There will be something for everyone so get over there and pick up a bargain!

Free Pho at Hanoi Hannah

Head to Hanoi Hannah in Prahran between 1.00pm and 4.00pm to help the popular Vietnamese establishment celebrate serving its 250,000th bowl of pho in the two years it has been open.

Every customer will get to enjoy a free bowl of pho and will get to choose from beef, chicken or mixed mushrooms while listening to the resident DJ playing throughout the afternoon.

With the weather getting better, enjoying some free food and music on a lazy Sunday afternoon is just what the doctor ordered!

The offer is for dine in only and does not extend to takeaway, Hanoi Hannah Express or their sister restaurant, Saigon Sally.
