Meld Magazine and Meld Community are currently looking for new members to join our team who are eager to volunteer their time to support the international student community and get a head start on their early career development.

Specifically, we are looking for students looking for experience in the following areas:

  • Reporting and writing
  • Photography and/or videography
  • Graphic design
  • Events management
  • Marketing
  • Grant writing

Ideal candidates will be team players, have good time-management skills and most importantly, must be passionate about supporting the international student community.

While not a pre-requisite, it will be a bonus if the area of interest you are applying for is relevant to your chosen discipline as a student.

Both local and international students are welcome to apply, and work experience can be undertaken as part of a formal internship with your education provider.

As a not-for-profit organisation, the positions are unpaid, but our commitment is to provide you invaluable opportunities for learning, hands-on experience and industry exposure.

Many of our alumni have gone on to achieve fulfilling careers with companies such as Google, Private Media, News Limited, Channel NewsAsia, Malaysiakini, The Star Online, The Edge Malaysia, The Word Collective, Ogilvy, ING Direct and PwC, as well as in the start-up environment as entrepreneurs.

To apply, please send us a copy of your CV, a cover letter detailing your area of interest, and if relevant, a portfolio/samples of your work to careers@meldmagazine.com.au.

    Hi there,

My name is Crystal Sim, and I have already graduated from my Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Design at Swinburne University (Hawthorn) in 2014. I am now in my hometown in Malaysia and had been taking Korean Language classes for about a year and had recently completed it. I was wondering whether I am eligible to apply for this volunteering so I can get some work experience to strengthen my interest in design, photography and connecting with people.

Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks.

    Regards,
    Crystal Sim
