To mark the launch of Live Below the Line 2013, former Masterchef contestants Dani Venn, Alana Lowes, Alice Zaslavsky, Beau Cook and Tregan Spiteri will be cooking up a storm with just $10 worth of ingredients.

The Cook-off will run from 1pm until 2pm, but other activities will be running activities from 12pm until 3pm. Taco Truck and White Guy Cooks Thai will be selling meals on site. The event will also feature an appearance from Nova’s Casanovas.

This is a free event, made possible by the generosity of DMG Radio Australia, The Bright Young Things, Shriro Australia, and the City of Melbourne.

Live Below the Line is one of Australia’s fastest growing anti-poverty campaigns. From 6–10 May, thousands of Australians will eat on $2 a day for five days. Sign up today at www.livebelowtheline.com.au.

The cook-off will be taking place on the Lower Terrace of Birrarung Marr, next to the ‘Angel’ sculpture.
