DON’T miss the chance to celebrate Melbourne’s multicultural communities in Carlton when the Carlton Harmony Celebration kicks off on Friday, June 24. Justin Lim has the details.

The streets of Carlton will come alive with the Carlton Harmony Celebration! Reaching its twelfth year, the celebration brings together Carlton’s rich and diverse culture together for all to experience, celebrating Melbourne’s myriad of inclusive cultures.

Visitors will be able to enjoy a fun-filled family event, enjoying various spectacles and a range of community-run stores with delicious foods from around the world. Fun and interactive activities can also be found at the Carlton Harmony Celebration as will cultural goods and crafts. There will also be many musical and art performances for visitors to experience.

Amongst the many performances on the day, expect to see acts like the DunDunKan African Drumming student group that brings to life the cultural wonders of West African music and story telling; the African Star Dance and Drumming Company that aims to provide spectacular performances and education on African culture and tradition through a myriad of workshops and performances; and the Naatya Bhava Academy, an Indian dance group that will be performing the enthralling classical Indian dance called Bharatanatyam.
