Melbourne Storm Multicultural Food Truck Festival

It’s one thing to be at a food truck festival but it’s another to attend one hosted by NRL team, Melbourne Storm!
Right before the Storm takes on the North Queensland Cowboys in a competitive rugby bout, head to Gosch’s Paddock at Olympic Boulevard for a FREE multicultural food festival like no other!
The likes of Biggie Smalls, Two Fat Indians, Brazillian Bites, Yia Yia’s Souvlaki Truck and more will be serving visitors on the day. In addition to all the food, visitors can expect cultural performances and player interviews on stage before the competitive clash between the Storm and the Cowboys.
Tickets are currently on sale for the game, which is set to take place at AAMI Park (kick off is at 5.30pm).

Deniz Karaca’s Passion for Caramel Tart Pop Up
Friday, June 16 – Saturday, June 17 (11.00am – 6.00pm) | Popstic (1 – 9 Federation Wharf, Melbourne)
Fans of Australia’s Masterchef aren’t going to want to miss this one!
Australian Patissier of the Year in 2016, Deniz Karaca’s incredible Passion for Caramel Tart will be on sale to the public this weekend at Popstic. As seen on Masterchef, the entire tart can be purchased at $60. Alternatively, a smaller treat-sized version of the tart will be available to buy for $15.
The secret to perfecting the tart, Karaca says, is its combination of banana, passionfruit and caramel with just the tiniest hint of lavender.
Voted the number one tart in Australia by a panel of esteemed international judges, this slice of heaven could easily be yours this weekend.

Truffle Melbourne Festival

To mark the start of truffle season, Queen Victoria Market will host the Truffle Melbourne Festival, a one-of-a-kind two day festival celebrating the delicacy delights that truffles can bring to the dining experience.
What can you expect from this festival? Truffle tastings, a market truffle trail and artisanal product stalls will be available for visitors to check out.
And if you’re a dog lover, witness a mock truffle dog hunt as professional truffle hunting dogs and festival favourites, Spice and Arrow, along with their siblings from Brimfeldt Australian Shepards show off their skills.

Winter Solstice Festival 2017
Saturday, June 17 (3.00pm – 9.00pm) | Edendale Farm (30 Gastons Rd, Eltham)
Celebrate the longest night of the year by heading out to Eltham and partying it up under the stars with the Winter Solstice Festival.
Taking place at Edendale Farm, visitors can expect plenty from this event including roving entertainers, lantern workstations, lantern parades and a massive bonfire to warm the soul.
Visitors are encouraged to rock up early and lay out a picnic blanket out on the farm and bring their own food. Alternatively, food and drinks will also be provided in the form of food trucks, stalls and purveyors serving mulled wine for those who want something cheeky to warm up with.

I went to the Truffle Melbourne Festival again this year, and I have to say the Queen Victoria Market really made it great. The weather was fantastic and the food was delectable. Im a massive fan of Truffles, after a truffle degustation at Philipe Mouchels restaurant, https://www.philipperestaurant.com.au/ I have been hooked. He just does incredible things with food, no wonder he has been a hatted chef for the last 40 years. The festival also had some really good cooking demonstrations from some of melbournes leading chefs, hosted by a lady called the truffle queen, I managed to find some of her videos https://www.thetrufflequeen.com/media/ where you can see what these chefs made for everyone on the stage. I wholeheartedly recommend this festival, its always a way to bring you some warmth in the middle of winter!
